The POWER program -- Positive Ongoing Woodbury Enrichment and Recreation
The POWER program is a free after school activity program for Woodbury students sponsored by the Salem School District.
Activities are typically held at the Woodbury School from 2:15 - 3:15 p.m., Monday - Wednesday and Fridays.

  • This club provides a quiet space to study that is actively supervised by a Woodbury teacher.  The club proctor is also able to provide academic support and guidance.  The club operates Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Space is limited so we ask students to commit to attending one day minimum each week when possible. 

  • Oh, you sing, dance, act, or juggle!? Do you hula hoop, play an instrument, or tell really funny jokes?! Do you have any other talent that you want to show the world?? Then Woodbury’s Got Talent is the club for you!! We will meet once a week to practice our acts and get them as strong as possible. Our club will culminate in a Talent Show for our friends and family that will take place on the last day of Spring POWER club right after school. Join Mrs. Rayho every Monday after school!

  • Have you been hoping to learn how to crochet a scarf or add some embroidery to your jeans?  Come hang out with Ms, Chisholm on Monday afternoons from 2:15-3:15 and learn basic stitches for crochet and embroidery. No experience or materials required, just a willingness to learn and have fun!

     

  • OPEN TO NEW MEMBERS

    Ready to roll the dice, test your strategy, and have some fun? Join the Board Game Club! Whether you're into classics like Monopoly and Chess, party games like Codenames and UNO, or modern strategy games like Catan and Splendor, there's something here for everyone.

    No experience needed — just bring your game face and a willingness to have fun. It's a great way to relax, meet new people, and challenge your brain. Hosted by Mr. Croteau and Ms. Hamel every Wednesday

  • Are you a skilled violinist, violist, cellist, or bassist looking for a musical challenge? The Advanced String Ensemble is the perfect place for dedicated string players to grow their talent, perform exciting music, and work as a team!

    In this club, students will:

    • Rehearse advanced string music in a supportive, focused environment
    • Learn techniques for ensemble playing, such as tuning, dynamics, and expression
    • Explore a variety of styles, from classical to modern
    • Prepare for school concerts, festivals, and special performances
    • Develop leadership and collaboration skills through section work and small group projects

    If you're passionate about music and ready to take your playing to the next level, join us and make beautiful music together! Join Mr. Poirier every Tuesday.

  • Do you love Stars Wars? How about card games? This club will meet to play the game Star Wars:Unlimited every week on Wednesday’s from 2:15- 3:15pm. No experience necessary, cards will be provided. Come join Mrs. Moeschen and have some fun while diving deep into the Star Wars Universe. 

  • Do you enjoy discovering new poetry and creating art with words? If so, join Ms. Lonardo for Poetry Club every Wednesday! After looking to famous classic and modern poets for inspiration, we will explore how to translate feelings, experiences, and memories into writing with a variety of exciting prompts inspired by these poets. Whether you are an experienced poet or just looking to try something new to process your thoughts in a safe and welcoming space, all are welcome.

  • Are you ready for some football?! Come join Mr. Cucolo every Monday afternoon from 2:15-3:15pm for some grid iron games. This club will meet rain, or shine. We’re all about high-energy competition without the high-impact hits—keeping it fast, fun, and injury-free. Open to all skill levels! Just bring your energy, a water bottle, and a willingness to play!

     

  • Calling all Grandmasters and absolute beginners! Whether you know your way around a chessboard or don't know a pawn from a penguin, the chess club is for you. Why Join? Chess is more than just a game—it’s a workout for your brain. Join Mr. Cucolo every Tuesday to sharpen your critical thinking skills, outsmart your friends, and enjoy some friendly competition in a chill environment.
